Antonella Cosentino
Preparatory Dance, Creative Dance and Character Dance
Classical ballet and children’s dance teacher, she trained at the Scuola di danza Ceron in Udine and through the R.A.D. (Royal Academy of Dancing in London) syllabus, with a strong focus on child development and the physical and artistic growth of young dancers. Her background combines performance experience, choreographic projects, and a specialization in dance education for children.
Career Path
1981-1987
She began studying classical dance under the guidance of Tiziana Magarotto Pavan and Paola Galliussi Ceron.
She continued her training following the R.A.D. (Royal Academy of Dancing, London) method, successfully passing the “Majors” examinations. In 1987 she joined the Gruppo Stabile Udinese (Associazione Danza e Balletto), distinguishing herself for her artistic activity within theatres, companies, and festivals (Italy, Austria, Germany, Yugoslavia) and reaching the finals of several national competitions.
1990
In 1990 Giuliana Penzi (Director of the Accademia Nazionale di Danza di Roma) awarded her the prize for best choreographic performance at the Monfalcone Regional Dance Festival.
1997-1999
She participates in the creation of urban dance projects, theatrical performances, publications, and dance video clips, including:
“L’ombra del mio piede”, directed by Vlamar, music by Andrea Centazzo, with the special participation of Clay Regazzoni; “Il tondo consapevole”, directed by Viktor Pavlovic, music by U.T. Gandhi.
1994/1997
She deepens her classical style and technique through workshops and seminars with renowned master teachers and, in parallel, expands her training by studying Russian character dance and applied pedagogy (1994 and 1997 RAD Summer School Campo Tures), BolzanoDanza (pedagogy seminar with Ulla Wenzel).
2014-2016
From 2014 to 2016 she attended teacher training courses organised by the International Dance Association (IDA), obtaining Level I and II dance teacher certification, the diploma “Educare alla danza”, and the specialisation “Danzare conTatto” with Prof. Rita Valbonesi.
2022
In 2022, she obtained the Level 1 certification as a Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT) teacher
2026
In 2026 she completed the Level 2 and Level 3 PBT teacher certifications. In the same year, she completed specialist seminars in autism and neurodiversity, as well as dance therapy and neuro-dance. She continuously takes part in ongoing professional development seminars in pedagogical training, with particular attention to child development and Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT).
