Erica Modotti

She began her training at Scuola di Danza Ceron in Udine, where she studied classical and modern dance. In 2003, she joined the Gruppo Stabile Udinese (Associazione Danza e Balletto), performing in festivals and showcases throughout Italy and abroad, including Austria, Germany, and the former Yugoslavia. Since 2005, she has been a regular collaborator with the artistic collective enidUDanza, taking part in interdisciplinary projects and site-specific performances exploring the relationship between dance, theatre, and visual arts.

Between 2007 and 2008, she danced with the Complesso del Balletto Ambrosiano, directed by Walter Venditti. During these years, she participated in numerous artistic productions and festivals, including OTR Dance Festival Vienna, I Cancelli della Memoria alongside former members of Franco Battiato’s ensemble, productions for choreographer Elena Lago, collaborations with I AM Agency in Milan, the film La donna della mia vita, and performances for MiArt at Spazio Teatro NO’HMA in Milan.

Alongside her performing career, she pursued pedagogical training. In 2013, she obtained her First and Second Level Classical Dance Instructor Diploma through Alidanza (Libertas-CONI). Between 2015 and 2016, she completed further specialist training in Fisiodanza, Educare alla Danza, and Sbarra a Terra, expanding her expertise in dance education and physical conditioning for dancers.

In 2020, she was admitted to the Master’s Programme in Contemporary Dance Pedagogy at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome. In 2023, she graduated with a Second-Level Academic Diploma in Contemporary Dance, awarded with highest honours (110 cum laude).

In 2021, she performed in the travelling project EXTRAdANTE, directed by Riccardo Pes with choreography by Massimo Gerardi. In 2022, she assisted Gerardi as choreographic assistant for Prometheus, produced within the framework of the Tiare Teatro Festival.

Between 2021 and 2023, she collaborated as a dancer with the Compagnia Nazionale di Danza Storica, performing in major productions and events including Le Bal du Grand Bonheur (Palermo), Gran Ballo dell’Ottocento (Teatro Bellini, Catania), La Grande Festa (Palazzo Medici Riccardi, Florence), and International Regency Grand Ball (Cagliari). During the same period, she also took part in the film productions ROSALINE (Walt Disney Productions, directed by Karen Maine) and I Leoni di Sicilia (Lotus Productions, directed by Paolo Genovese).

Between 2023 and 2024, she performed with the Slovenian MN Dance Company in the productions Distance and Borderline. In 2024, she worked as both dancer and choreographer for DEA – Dance, Exhibition & Arts, a project of the Fondazione dell’Accademia Nazionale di Danza, and participated as dancer and choreographer in the project Teoria e tecnica dell’Orchestica for the Foundation. In the same year, she served as movement coordinator for the film La Valle dei Sorrisi, produced by Fandango and directed by Paolo Strippoli.

Between 2024 and 2025, she collaborated as a dancer in the advanced training programme of Compagnia Arearea and, in 2025, created the choreography for the children's opera Cenerentola, produced by the Orchestra Giovanile Filarmonici Friulani. During the same year, she worked as choreographic assistant to Francesca Lattuada for Eppur si muove_Microdanze, a CCN/Aterballetto project presented as part of the Visavì-ODEC Festival.

In 2026, she performed in Credere alle Maschere by Romeo Castellucci at the Triennale di Milano, continuing an artistic path that brings together contemporary research, dance pedagogy, choreography, and performance across both national and international contexts.
